Memories from PMA Fresh Summit 2014!

Great participation of Florverde® Sustainable Flowers in PMA Fresh Summit 2014

During two days Florverde® Sustainable Flowers participated with a booth at the PMA Summit fair held on the 17-19th of October in Anaheim- California. We participated at the market trends workshops for the flower industry. On Saturday we received visitors from the supply chain, such as importers, growers and wholesalers who had the experience to learn more about sustainability through our interactive booth.

Florverde® was also the sponsor of the Flower Networking Reception. This event had more than 200 attendees who connected with each other to share experiences and ideas.
We thank all the visitors who came to our booth and reception during the PMA Summit.

Friend of the month - January 2015

Have your say in January... Christine Boldt from the USA! "We embrace the notion of an increasingly interconnected world and believe it is the ideal moment to introduce the concept of working together"

We spoke with Christine Boldt, B.S. in Accounting from Florida State University. She has been exposed to the flower industry for more than 30 years, as her mother was one of the first woman to own a flower importing company in Miami. Also she has worked with the Association of Floral Importers of Florida - AFIF on their trade shows from 1999 through 2001 and joined full time from 2004 as Executive Vice President. 5 reasons why sustainable flowers will rock this Valentine's Day!

5 reasons why sustainable flowers will rock this Valentine's Day!

The most important floral holiday in the year is close and our choices could make a big difference in the industry. Let’s see how they can make the difference!

1. Strict standard which benefits workers and their communities.

Now customers care about what’s behind the products they purchase. Buy responsible products means welfare to workers and their families as well as job opportunities for women.
      2. We’re obsessed with water resources.

We encourage farms to get the best of their rainwater reservoirs. In 2013, 54% of the water used by certified farms came from rainwater.

  3. We encourage networking to improve results! Thanks to Floriculture sustainability indicators system, companies can measure not only their individual performance, but also a monthly comparison process between all farms participating.
